★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sicuramente tutte le città dove sono stato e dove sarò, potranno coccolarmi... ma niente sarà mai come gurdare la mia città dal balcone della casa di Vincenzo Bellini... anche lui esule ed innamorato dei rumori, dei colori della sua Catania... e tutto questo si trasporta nelle sue opere ed ha il sapore dolce dei pesci appena pescati ed amaro come la lava... ogni volta che torno Catania una gioia mi pervade e penso alla mia felice giovane curiosità che mi appagava... sogno di tornare la tutti i giorni, a vivere ogni suo angolo, sprofondando in tutti i miei pensieri per poi, finalmente, rinascere ad anonimo e consapevole innamorato di Sicilia!
 Surely all the cities where I have been and where I will be, will be able to pamper me ... but nothing will ever be like looking at my city from the balcony of Vincenzo Bellini's house ... he too is exiled and in love with the noises, the colors of his Catania .. and all this is conveyed in his works and has the sweet taste of freshly caught and bitter fish like lava ... every time I return Catania a joy pervades me and I think of my happy young curiosity that satisfied me ... I dream of go back there every day, to live every corner, sinking into all my thoughts and then, finally, to be reborn as an anonymous and aware lover of Sicily!

Qui sono conservate le spoglie della regina Eleonora, moglie di Federico II d’Aragona, la quale si dice avesse chiesto la costruzione di questa chiesa.
It was born on the remains of a pagan temple, the Temple of Minerva. Perfect example of Baroque, it is also known as the Immaculate Conception due to the wooden statue of the 17th century, kept in the chapel on the right of the presbytery.
Here are the remains of Queen Eleonora, wife of Frederick II of Aragon, who is said to have asked for the construction of this church.
