Infatti tra il XII e il XV la chiesa ebbe questo ruolo, finché venne inaugurata la nuova Chiesa dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo che acquisì il ruolo di Cattedrale! La chiesa dei Santi Felice e Baccolo ebbe poi un ruolo di congrega ad uso esclusivo dei nobili appartenenti al Sedil Dominova, e poi dal XIX secolo venne affidata alla Confraternita del Santo Rosario.
