All'interno, tra le varie opere, sono presenti un bellissimo "Compianto sul Cristo morto" di Guido Mazzoni e la "Madonna del canale" di un allievo dello Squarcione. An imposing Franciscan building, it was built in the second half of the fifteenth century in Gothic style. Inside, among the various works, there are a beautiful "Lamentation over the dead Christ" by Guido Mazzoni and the "Madonna del Canale" by a pupil of the Squarcione.

L' interno è molto semplice ma ben osservando si possono trovare i segni di un passato particolare e importante. Consigliabile prendere il depliant all' ingresso che racconta in modo semplice tutte le opere presenti all' interno della stessa. A church that is beautiful, the small garden in front of the entrance is very well kept and the facades are already impressive. The interior is very simple but by observing you can find the signs of a particular and important past. It is advisable to take the brochure to the entrance which tells in a simple way all the works present inside it.
S	Silvia Barbieri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tipica chiesa francescana piuttosto spoglia ma che contiene un' opera che non ci si aspetta di trovare in una chiesa di paese: il compianto del Cristo morto. Statue in terracotta a grandezza naturale molto realistiche e con una notevole carica drammatica. La Madonna esprime una sofferenza indicibile e la donna a destra un urlo di sorpresa e di dolore. Non è una scena statica e composta ma movimentata dell'atteggiamento realistico dei personaggi. Veramente notevole Typical Franciscan church rather bare but containing a work that is not expected to be found in a village church: the lamentation of the dead Christ. Life-size terracotta statues very realistic and with a remarkable dramatic charge. Our Lady expresses an unspeakable suffering and the woman on the right a cry of surprise and pain. It is not a static and composed but animated scene of the realistic attitude of the characters. Truly remarkable

Recentemente La struttura è stata donata dai frati ai missionari identes che, anche con l'aiuto di una fondazione, stanno cercando di restaurare adeguatamente il convento e la chiesa. Bellissima architettura gotica e splendidi interni, dove si può ammirare lo straordinario quattrocentesco gruppo scultoreo del compianto sul Cristo morto di Guido Mazzoni (1476-77): i volti e gli atteggiamenti delle figure in terracotta, a grandezza naturale, esprimono profonda espressività.
