Sono entrata proprio mentre iniziava la S. Messa. Bravi sacerdoti, con un servizio non scontato delle Confessioni anche in settimana. A fine Messa ieri possibilità di adorazione del Santissimo. Anche questo non scontato. Le Chiese non sono solo opere d'arte ma luoghi di raccoglimento dove ci si pone di fronte al Creatore. In fondo lo slancio per la costruzione di tanta bellezza artistica delle Chiese è per offrirla al Signore e insieme goderne noi. In quanto a bellezza l'Abbazia di S. Anastasia è splendida! The churches are not only works of art but places of recollection where we face the Creator. After all, the impetus for the construction of so much artistic beauty of the Churches is to offer it to the Lord and together enjoy it. As for beauty, the Abbey of S. Anastasia is splendid!

L'esterno è in stile classico, molto interessante l'intreccio dei colori bianco e verde chiaro che costituiscono la facciata. Il tetto è a capanna. Internamente è ad una navata, pianta rettangolare. Lungo i lati ci sono 4 nicchie con altari (due a destra e due a sinistra). Il soffitto è a botte ellittica, con i dettagli di un soffitto a cassettoni (cassettoni classici, i quali non presentano molte allegorie). Non presenta particolari rilevanze artistiche e architettoniche. Ingresso libero. The church of San Tomio is located in the heart of -verona and its construction dates back to 837 BC. The exterior is in classic style, the interweaving of the white and light green colors that make up the façade is very interesting. The roof is gabled. Internally it is a single nave, rectangular plan. Along the sides there are 4 niches with altars (two on the right and two on the left). The ceiling is barrel elliptical, with details of a coffered ceiling (classic coffered, which do not have many allegories). It has no particular artistic and architectural relevance. Free admission.

Dapprima monastero benedettino femminile poi Collegiata poi sconsacrata e trasformata in teatro per ridiventare Chiesa a tutti gli effetti. Ha subito numerosi interventi di restauro. Da vendere sempre con il dovuto rispetto. The Church of San Tommaso apostolo, known by the name of San Tomio, has had mixed ups and downs. At first, a Benedictine monastery for women, then a collegiate church, then deconsecrated and transformed into a theater to become a Church in all respects. It has undergone numerous restoration works. Always to be sold with due respect.

Anche la Chiesa ha una sua storia interessante. Appena ho l occasione io ci faccio una capatina. Una prima chiesa/convento pare esistesse già nel IX sec., ma con l’attuale denominazione risulta da un documento del XV secolo. Nel 1748 la chiesa viene rimodernata dall'architetto Cristofoli, ma nel 1815 diventa il teatro "Morando", fino a giungere alla sua riconsacrazione nel 1842 e passare poi (1919) sotto l’amministrazione dei Missionari Figli del Sacro Cuore di Gesù (Comboniani) ai quali tutt’oggi appartiene. L'edificio all’esterno non presenta grandi raffinatezze stilistiche, mentre l'interno ha aspetto neoclassico, navata unica e quattro semi cappelle con qualche dipinto come San Zeno di Napoleone Razzetti, la pala del Sacro Cuore di Giuseppe Zannoni e due altari: Altare con la Sacra Famiglia e San Giovanni Calabria e Altare dedicato S. Teresa di Gesù Bambino e S. Francesco Saverio, patroni delle Missioni Francamente non è una chiesa imperdibile e di primo piano...con tutto ciò che c’è da vedere a Verona la visiterei solo se aveste tempo disponibile...
