In the building inside a reliquary, there is the body of St. Fausto martyr donated to the church by a wealthy Sienese family. From that moment on, San Fausto became the protector of Chianti and devotees invoked his help in times of drought or during the harvest.

Al suo interno: un importante affresco staccato rappresentante la Madonna in Trono, attribuito a Bicci di Lorenzo (1373-1452), una statua lignea di epoca rinascimentale di San Barnaba, antico patrono di Castellina.
Nella navata destra, l'urna lignea dorata con le reliquie di S. Fausto, compatrono di Castellina, donata dalla famiglia Ugolini nel XVIII sec.
Nella navata sinistra, un'Annunciazione di scuola toscana seicentesca.
A sinistra del coro un ciborio rinascimentale quattrocentesco; dietro l'altare un crocifisso di scuola toscana del XVII secolo. Nel transetto è sistemato il moderno organo a 40 canne che dal 1965 ha sostituito quello più antico. Le tre campane sono del 1797.
Of sixteenth-century origin, rebuilt and enlarged after the destruction of World War II in neo-Romanesque style.
Inside: an important detached fresco representing the Madonna Enthroned, attributed to Bicci di Lorenzo (1373-1452), a Renaissance wooden statue of San Barnaba, the ancient patron of Castellina.
In the right aisle, the gilded wooden urn with the relics of St. Fausto, co-patron of Castellina, donated by the Ugolini family in the 18th century.
In the left aisle, an Annunciation from the 17th century Tuscan school.
To the left of the choir is a 15th century Renaissance ciborium; behind the altar a crucifix of the Tuscan school of the seventeenth century. In the transept there is the modern 40-pipe organ which since 1965 has replaced the older one. The three bells are from 1797.
