Beautiful church, unfortunately not open at the moment. It is said that executions of witches and sorcerers were performed in her churchyard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno scrigno colmo di dipinti e sculture che per qualità e numero fa di questa chiesa una delle più importanti e significative di Ferrara. Nei pennacchi delle arcate della navata centrale si possono ammirare le mezze figure di santi e sante Carmelitane (1595-96) fattura dello Scarsellino (Ippolito Scarsella, noto con il nome d'arte di Scarsellino (Ferrara, 1550 o 1551 – Ferrara, 28 ottobre 1620).
A treasure chest full of paintings and sculptures that for quality and number makes this church one of the most important and significant of Ferrara. In the pendentives of the arches of the central nave you can admire the half figures of Carmelite saints (1595-96) made by Scarsellino (Ippolito Scarsella, known with the stage name of Scarsellino (Ferrara, 1550 or 1551 - Ferrara, 28 October 1620).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima chiesa rinascimentale purtroppo chiusa da 8 anni a causa del terremoto. Bellissimi e visitabilissimi i due chiostri adiacenti che ospita durante l'anno diverso eventi.
Il chiostro più piccolo a cui si accede da via Boccaleone è la sede della contrada di San Paolo.
Sempre nello stesso edificio c'è la sala della musica, creata appositamente per avere una acustica apposita.
Beautiful Renaissance church unfortunately closed for 8 years due to the earthquake. The two adjacent cloisters that hosts different events during the year are beautiful and very visitable.
The smallest cloister which can be accessed from via Boccaleone is the seat of the district of San Paolo.
Also in the same building there is the music room, created specifically to have special acoustics.
