It is always a pleasure to go to butega or to buy the Cappellacci and Cappelletti preferred by my tato and the whole family or to take the piadine to be stuffed at home or for all the other typical products of the region or for an aperitif all accompanied by a friendliness and all-round availability.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A meta' tra un'enoteca ed un negozio di gastronomia di qualita', una sosta in questo bel locale, e' quasi d'obbligo per il visitatore a Ferrara, e forse anche per i residenti. E' piacevole lasciarsi guidare dalla simpatia e dalla competenza della signora Elisa per trovare una particolare squisitezza. Ho acquistato una paio di bottiglie di Grappa Umberto 1 di Mattarelli e di Mare', un liquore dolce alle amarene che sposa benissimo il sapore del cioccolato fondente e del panpepato ferrarese.
Halfway between a wine shop and a quality delicatessen shop, a stop in this beautiful place is almost a must for the visitor to Ferrara, and perhaps also for the residents. It is pleasant to be guided by Mrs. Elisa's friendliness and competence to find a particular delicacy. I bought a couple of bottles of Grappa Umberto 1 by Mattarelli and di Mare ', a sweet sour cherry liqueur that perfectly marries the flavor of dark chocolate and Ferrarese gingerbread.
