★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo di alta spiritualità. S. Gabriele dell'Addolorata è uno dei luoghi cristiani più popolari e più visitati d'Italia. Situato ai piedi del massiccio del Gran Sasso, si ammira un paesaggio naturalistico mozzafiato! Il santuario si divide tra la vecchia chiesa e il nuovo edificio mega capiente,dove è situata l'urna che conserva le spoglie del Santo. Il silenzio comunque la fa da padrone.
Place of high spirituality. S. Gabriele dell'Addolorata is one of the most popular and most visited Christian places in Italy. Located at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, you can admire a breathtaking natural landscape! The sanctuary is divided between the old church and the new mega-capacious building, where the urn that preserves the saint's remains is located. However, silence reigns supreme.

Maria Assunta costruita fra il XII e XIII secolo ai piedi del versante meridionale del Gran Sasso d'Italia e sul ciglione di roccia che fungeva da difesa naturale al castello di Assergi. La facciata mostra una tipologia scarna ed essenziale, il portale con bassorilievo dell'Agnus Dei ed il rosone realizzato verosimilmente da maestranze aquilane con esperienze scultoree fatte nel grande cantiere di S. Maria di Collemaggio.
Church of S. Maria Assunta built between the 12th and 13th centuries at the foot of the southern slope of the Gran Sasso d'Italia and on the rock ridge that served as a natural defense for the castle of Assergi. The façade shows a lean and essential typology, the portal with bas-relief of the Agnus Dei and the rose window probably made by workers from L'Aquila with sculptural experiences made in the large construction site of S. Maria di Collemaggio.
