La Chiesa è anche Santuario della Madonna del Cielo, infatti è possibile ammirare la preziosa statua della Beata Vergine laccata in oro. La città di Fondi è legatissima a questa statua e al culto mariano grazie a due prodigiosi interventi che si raccontano:l'intervento di Maria per fermare una terribile epidemia di colera e quello per evitare che su Fondi si abbattessero i danni del terremoto avvenuto nella zona di Avezzano, percepito sin da noi. La chiesa è inoltre ben gestita ed organizzata, il parroco nonché rettore del santuario tiene molto ad un rapporto umano e caloroso con i fedeli, motivo in più per visitare la chiesa e fermarsi ad ascoltare le funzioni.
