Oggi purtroppo smembrato in sessanta tavole e conservato nei più importanti musei di tutto il mondo The largest polyptych of the early Renaissance was placed in the church, the "Polyptych of Borgo San Sepolcro" or of San Francesco by Sassetta. Today unfortunately dismembered into sixty tables and kept in the most important museums around the world
M	Marcomando Marco on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fondata nel XIV secolo, in stile gotico, la chiesa di S.Francesco (in navata unica tipica degli ordini minori) è orientata verso il sole nascente al solstizio d'inverno. Con la facciata interamente composta in blocchi di pietra , conserva nella cripta al suo interno le spoglie del Beato Ranieri (dal quale prende il nome la campana più grande del suo campanile detta appunto "Raniera" ). La chiesa è affiancata dal seminario/convento (oggi scuola) che ospitò frà Luca Pacioli insigne matematico (collaborò anche con Leonardo da Vinci) . Compreso nella struttura anche un chiostro e il bel campanile (non visitabile ) ancor più apprezzabile dal suggestivo scorcio di P.za Garibaldi o dall'apprezzabile giardino di Piero della Francesca adiacente al complesso. Founded in the 14th century, in Gothic style, the church of S. Francesco (with a single nave typical of the minor orders) is oriented towards the rising sun at the winter solstice. With the façade entirely composed of stone blocks, it preserves in its crypt the remains of Blessed Ranieri (from which the largest bell of its bell tower called "Raniera" takes its name). The church is flanked by the seminary / convent (now a school) which hosted Fra Luca Pacioli, a distinguished mathematician (he also collaborated with Leonardo da Vinci). Also included in the structure is a cloister and the beautiful bell tower (which cannot be visited), even more appreciable from the suggestive glimpse of P.za Garibaldi or from the appreciable garden of Piero della Francesca adjacent to the complex.

F. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa di San Francesco, come tutti i luoghi del monachesimo francescano, trasmette la religiositá e lo.spirito di vita improntati sulla povertá, sull'esenzialità, sulla semplicitá. Entrando si rimane sorpresi dalla navata unica a dalla luce fioca. Sembra quasi un sacrilegio girarla e visitarla come turisti. Spinge a sedersi, a prendersi la testa tra le mani e a riflettere e a pensare. L'altare è magnifico, sembra avvolto da una luce di altri secoli. Consiglio vivamente la visita a questa Chiesa. A pochi passi da essa si trovano il Museo Civico e il Museo delle erbe Aboca. The Church of San Francesco, like all places of Franciscan monasticism, transmits religiosity and the spirit of life marked by poverty, essentiality, simplicity. Upon entering you are surprised by the single nave and the dim light. It seems almost a sacrilege to turn it around and visit it as tourists. It pushes you to sit down, to take your head in your hands and to reflect and think. The altar is magnificent, it seems wrapped in a light from other centuries. I highly recommend visiting this church. A few steps away are the Civic Museum and the Aboca Herb Museum.
