Parrocchia eretta nel 1831 per decreto del vescovo cardinal Morozzo, è dedicata alla omonima santa Cristina di Bolsena, vergine e martire. L'origine della Chiesa risale ad un piccolo Oratorio con relativo Battistero. La Chiesa vera e propria si deve al vescovo mons. Carlo Bascapè, che la consacrò il 25 luglio 1605. Negli stessi anni il Bascapè vi insediò una Congregazione dei santi Gaudenzio e Carlo, istituendo anche una "Scuola di Teologia Morale", a dirigere la quale, nel 1609 chiamò il teologo Francesco Marconi Quagliotti. Solo nei primi anni del 1700 la riedificazione portò la Chiesa di Santa Cristina all'attuale consistenza. The church of Santa Cristina, built in the upper part of the hamlet of Borgomanero, dominates the plain below with a spectacular view of the capital city and the Alpine chain. Parish erected in 1831 by decree of the bishop cardinal Morozzo, it is dedicated to the homonymous saint Cristina of Bolsena, virgin and martyr. The origin of the Church dates back to a small Oratory with its Baptistery. The actual Church is due to the bishop Msgr. Carlo Bascapè, who consecrated it on 25 July 1605. In the same years Bascapè installed a Congregation of Saints Gaudenzio and Carlo there, also establishing a "School of Moral Theology", to direct which, in 1609 he called the theologian Francesco Marconi Quagliotti. Only in the early 1700s did the rebuilding bring the Church of Santa Cristina to its present consistency.

A	Ame Terengan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questa Chiesa mi ha sempre incuriosito anche perché, durante le feste natalizie, dalla circonvallazione di Borgomanero si può ammirare da anni la spettacolare illuminazione. Non ho però avuto modo di entrare in Chiesa (e mi riservo di farlo), ma mi sono brevemente fermato sul piazzale ad ammirare il panorama che si apre agli occhi del visitatore. Prima la campagna con i gruppi di case isolate, poi Santa Cristina e Borgomanero. Ciò che colpisce è la maestosità della catena montuosa che in lontananza si staglia contro il cielo. Grazie ad una pur consunta cartellonistica si individuano e si riconoscono le vette delle Alpi Pennine e Bernesi; cime di oltre 4000 metri, ed in particolare la Punta Dufour del massiccio del Monte Rosa, coi suoi 4634 metri. Un affettuoso gatto nero, che ci é stato detto frequentare l'interno della chiesa anche durante le cerimonie, ci ha salutati con i suoi strofinamenti al momento della partenza. This church has always intrigued me also because, during the Christmas holidays, the spectacular lighting can be admired from the Borgomanero ring road for years. However, I have not had the opportunity to enter the Church (and I reserve the right to do so), but I briefly stopped on the square to admire the panorama that opens to the visitor's eyes. First the countryside with groups of isolated houses, then Santa Cristina and Borgomanero. What is striking is the majesty of the mountain range that stands out against the sky in the distance. Thanks to a well-worn poster design, the peaks of the Pennine and Bernese Alps are identified and recognized; peaks of over 4000 meters, and in particular the Punta Dufour of the Monte Rosa massif, with its 4634 meters. An affectionate black cat, who was told to attend the interior of the church even during the ceremonies, greeted us with his rubbings on departure.
