Wer das ein oder andere tolle Urlaubsbild mit weitem Seeblick machen will, kommt nicht darum hier vorbeizuschauen :) Very nice view over Lake Como. If you want to take one or the other great holiday picture with a wide view of the lake, don't stop by here :)

Im Inneren zahlreiche Fresken aus dem 16. Jh. A small church, located outside of Livo at the cemetery, was first mentioned in documents in 1297. In 1446 the church was completely redesigned. Inside there are many frescoes from the 16th century.

Posta in un punto panoramico con vista sia sul Lario sia sulla Valtellina, è rinomata per i suoi affreschi, alcuni dei quali visibili esternamente all'ingresso. Luogo tranquillo adatto ad una passeggiata e sosta consigliata a chi è diretto al Crotti Dangri. La chiesa è aperta in occasione di alcuni eventi particolari. Church of San Giacomo vecchia (15th century) located about 800 m from the town of Livo. Located in a panoramic point overlooking both the Lario and Valtellina, it is renowned for its frescoes, some of which are visible externally at the entrance. Quiet place suitable for a walk and stop recommended for those heading to Crotti Dangri. The church is open for some special events.

Consiglio di visitare anche la Chiesa "nuova" di S Giacomo (edificazione XVII) ubicata al centro di Livo, dove ogni giorno è aperta e all'interno è sempre in funzione un piacevole sottofondo musicale liturgico. Beautiful place !. A must visit. I also recommend visiting the "new" Church of S Giacomo (XVII building) located in the center of Livo, where it is open every day and a pleasant liturgical background music is always on inside.

Il nucleo originario risale al XII secolo ma l'edificio che ci è giunto è quello edificato tra il XV e il XVI secolo. La facciata è a capanna impreziosita da un pronao affrescato con le Storie della Genesi e l'interno è caratterizzato da archi timpano a pittura bicroma. Gli affreschi dell'abside e del presbiterio sono stati realizzati intorno al 1512 da Sebastiano da Piuro. Nella chiesa si contano 23 Madonne con Bambino poiché numerose sono le opere devozionali ed ex voto commissionate dagli abitanti del posto. Molte di queste testimoniano l'emigrazione verso la Sicilia, in particolare Palermo, che caratterizzò l'Alto Lario a partire dal XV secolo. Emblematiche le citazioni negli affreschi dei coralli rossi tipici della gioielleria siciliana, impiegati come amuleti e portafortuna, e delle catene che ricordano i rapimenti a opera dei pirati saraceni. La Chiesa viene aperta raramente ma è possibile visitarla contattando il custode tramite l'Ufficio Turistico di Gravedona. At the end of the village stands the small church dedicated to San Giacomo, the protector of pilgrims. The original nucleus dates back to the 12th century but the building that has reached us is the one built between the 15th and 16th centuries. The façade is a gable embellished with a portico frescoed with the Stories of Genesis and the interior is characterized by tympanum arches in two-tone painting. The frescoes in the apse and the presbytery were made around 1512 by Sebastiano da Piuro. In the church there are 23 Madonnas with Child as there are numerous devotional works and ex-votos commissioned by the locals. Many of these testify to emigration to Sicily, in particular Palermo, which characterized the Alto Lario starting from the 15th century. The citations in the frescoes of the red corals typical of Sicilian jewelry, used as amulets and good luck charms, and of the chains that recall the kidnappings by Saracen pirates are emblematic. The Church is rarely opened but it is possible to visit it by contacting the caretaker through the Tourist Office of Gravedona.
