In origine era predisposta in verticale rispetto all'attuale, con l'abside posto perpendicolarmente rispetto all'ingresso che, attualmente chiuso, dava sulla splendida gradinata nella Piazza della Loggia. La Chiesa nella stesura attuale risale a fine 1400, ed è impreziosita dal magnifico politico finito di dipingere nel 1502 da Giovanni Canavesio, pittore di Pinerolo molto attivo nel ponente Ligure. È dedicata a San Michele arcangelo, e la festa patronale è il 29 settembre
Parish church that dates back to the oldest version around 1200. Originally it was arranged vertically with respect to the current one, with the apse placed perpendicular to the entrance which, currently closed, gave onto the splendid staircase in Piazza della Loggia. The Church in its current draft dates back to the end of the 1400s, and is embellished by the magnificent politician who finished painting in 1502 by Giovanni Canavesio, a painter from Pinerolo very active in western Liguria. It is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, and the patronal feast is on September 29th

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bijzonder mooie oude kerk met een zeer goede sfeer omdat de kerk nog écht in gebruik is. Opvallen zijn de vele altaren en beelden. Veel kleur en prachtige details. Heel mooi glas in lood en een fraai orgel.
Een oase van rust, een diepe stilte waarin je vanzelf stilvalt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bella chiesa antica costruita sul perimetro delle antiche mura comunali di Pigna. Di stile romanico con qualche ornamento architettonico in gotico è rinomata per la preziosa splendida pala dedicata a San Michele, opera del Canavesio, che sovrasta l'altare maggiore. Prezioso anche il rosone che sovrasta l'ingresso. Un insieme architettonico e artistico di tale importanza meriterebbe un maggior rilevo e un intervento di rispristino accurato onde renderlo maggiormente fruibile dal punto di vista turistico.
Beautiful ancient church built on the perimeter of the ancient municipal walls of Pigna. Of Romanesque style with some architectural ornaments in Gothic, it is renowned for the precious splendid altarpiece dedicated to San Michele, the work of Canavesio, which dominates the main altar. The rose window above the entrance is also precious. An architectural and artistic ensemble of such importance would deserve greater emphasis and an accurate restoration intervention in order to make it more usable from a tourist point of view.
