 Small church with many beautiful frescoes. It is located in the Municipality of Presicce-Acquarica, on the Provincial Road that leads from the locality of Acquarica to Torre Mozza di Ugento.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccola chiesa in territorio di Acquarica del Capo, sulla strada che porta a Torre Mozza, dedicata alla Vergine Maria Assunta in Cielo e risalente al secolo XVIII.
È nota anche come Cappella della Madonna di Pompignano, dall'omonimo antico casale ormai scomparso. La chiesa presenta un'unica navata, altare a muro, ed un grande affresco che copre tutto il muro absidale, la cui parte superiore raffigura la tomba vuota di Maria, assunta in cielo in anima e corpo.
Del complesso fa parte un piccolo alloggio annesso alla chiesa ed un giardino attiguo.
Sul luogo risiede l'eremita fra Rufino, che celebra una S. Messa quotidiana.
Small church in the territory of Acquarica del Capo, on the road to Torre Mozza, dedicated to the Virgin Mary Assumed into Heaven and dating back to the XVIII century.
It is also known as the Chapel of the Madonna di Pompignano, from the homonymous ancient farmhouse which has now disappeared. The church has a single nave, a wall altar, and a large fresco that covers the entire apsidal wall, the upper part of which depicts the empty tomb of Mary, assumed in heaven in body and soul.
The complex includes a small room attached to the church and an adjacent garden.
On the site resides the hermit between Rufino, who celebrates a daily Holy Mass.
