★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa Collegiata di Santa Maria del Buon Gesù è una bella chiesa a tre navate, che nella forma attuale risale al 1788. La Chiesa venne eretta però nel XV secolo (era di dimensioni molto ridotte) per l’influsso della predicazione di S. Giacomo della Marca. La chiesa è in stile rinascimentale e barocco. Al suo interno troviamo: una tela del Boscoli rappresentante la crocifissione (1601) e affreschi sulle volte dello stesso autore e del Ripanelli; una scultura lignea di arte abruzzese raffigurante la vergine col Bambino (sec. XV); una pregevole Cantoria in legno con organo a canne e il Coro in noce; la Fonte Battesimale in legno, semi-esagonale, con intagli di G. Morelli di Montegiorgio e la doratura di Contadini di Macerata (sec. XIX). Curiosità: Carassai vanta ben 5 differenti confraternite: Sant’Antonio, Sacro Cuore, Madonna del Buon Gesù, Santa Monica e del Santissimo Rosario.
The Collegiate Church of Santa Maria del Buon Gesù is a beautiful church with three naves, which in its present form dates back to 1788. However, the church was built in the fifteenth century (it was very small) due to the influence of the preaching of St. James of the Brand. The church is in Renaissance and Baroque style. Inside we find: a painting by Boscoli representing the crucifixion (1601) and frescoes on the vaults by the same author and by Ripanelli; a wooden sculpture of Abruzzese art depicting the Virgin and Child (sec. XV); with a valuable organ Cantoria wooden rods and the Choir walnut; the baptismal font in wood, semi-hexagonal, with carvings by G. Morelli di Montegiorgio and the gilding of Contadini di Macerata (19th century). Curiosity: Carassai boasts 5 different confraternities: Sant’Antonio, Sacro Cuore, Madonna del Buon Gesù, Santa Monica and the Santissimo Rosario.
