DescrizioneLa chiesa di Sant'Anna in Melfi fu ricostruita, per volontà di Papa Pio XI, a metà degli anni '30, dopo che il terremoto del 23 luglio 1930 ne aveva causato il crollo insieme alla monumentale chiesa dedicata a Santa Maria del Suffragio detta anche "dei Morticelli" entrambe ubicate nel rione "Mercato". La ricostruzione fu dislocata dall'originario sito all'attuale rione "Chiuchiari" dove si erano trasferiti la maggior parte dei fedeli successivamente al sisma. Description The church of Sant'Anna in Melfi was rebuilt, by the will of Pope Pius XI, in the mid-1930s, after the earthquake of 23 July 1930 had caused its collapse together with the monumental church dedicated to Santa Maria del Suffragio called also "dei Morticelli" both located in the "Mercato" district. The reconstruction was relocated from the original site to the current "Chiuchiari" district where most of the faithful had moved after the earthquake. The church has a masonry structure with a central plan.
