La chiesa è edificata sui resti di un tempio vicino ad una delle due porte urbane delle antiche mura. La Chiesa ha subito nel corso dei secoli diverse ristrutturazioni. La chiesa conserva al suo interno, costituito da un'unica navata, altari e statue di santi, tra cui si distinguono per fattura due altari lignei. L'interno è decorato con affreschi risalenti a varie epoche.
 The Church of San Pietro Apostolo is located in the historic center of Agnone between via Montebello and largo Manzoni. The church is built on the remains of a temple near one of the two city gates of the ancient walls. The Church has undergone several renovations over the centuries. The church preserves inside, consisting of a single nave, altars and statues of saints, among which two wooden altars stand out. The interior is decorated with frescoes dating back to various eras.
