★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Biase fu costruita in questa zona per volere dei principi Borrello e fu dedicata al Vescovo e Martire di Sebaste.
L’impianto architettonico della chiesa è ad una sola navata e costituito da vari altari, da un'ampia cappella ove è possibile venerare la Statua della Madonna della Mercede, che il popolo di Agnone chiama con l’appellativo antico spagnolesco di “La Marescialla”, proprio come la chiamano ancora i Mercedari.
La cappella è d’una eccellente sontuosità e il suo altare è ampio e solenne, ricco di decorazioni, finemente intagliato, tutto dorato. L’altare maggiore invece è un’apprezzabile opera in marmo, con bassorilievi gradevoli, eleganti e suggestivi. Tra le statue conservate in questa chiesa vale la pena ricordare quella di San Filippo Neri.
La Chiesa è stata recentemente restaurata ed è tra le più risplendenti della cittadina ed ha anche una antica e gloriosa confraternita, proprio quella della Mercede.
Nell’archivio Parrocchiale si conservano varie pergamene, le più importanti sono quelle del 1244, del 1400 e alcune del 1600. (web)
 The church of San Biase was built in this area at the behest of the Borrello princes and was dedicated to the Bishop and Martyr of Sebaste.
The architectural layout of the church has a single nave and consists of various altars, a large chapel where it is possible to venerate the Statue of the Madonna della Mercede, which the people of Agnone call with the ancient Spanish name of "La Marescialla" , just as the Mercedari still call it.
The chapel is of an excellent sumptuousness and its altar is large and solemn, rich in decorations, finely carved, all gilded. The main altar, on the other hand, is an appreciable work in marble, with pleasant, elegant and suggestive bas-reliefs. Among the statues preserved in this church it is worth mentioning that of San Filippo Neri.
The church has recently been restored and is one of the most resplendent in the town and also has an ancient and glorious brotherhood, that of the Mercede.
Various parchments are preserved in the parish archive, the most important being those of 1244, 1400 and some of the 1600s. (Web)
