La presenza di Sant'Egidio, di cui si conserva il corpo, si sente in modo oserei dire 'fisico'. La statua di Santa Maria Francesca delle Cinque Piaghe, che frequentava, in vita, quadro luoghi e l'immagine San Pasquale, con le Sue reliquie poste dietro l'altare, donano un senso tangibile di accoglienza, infondendo tanta serenità. Una Chiesa da visitare anche per ammirarne la compostezza architettonica e le pregevoli pale d'altare. A dire poco suggestiva la cella e la cappellina di Sant'Egidio, cui si accede, in particolari giorni, da via Carducci. Una bellissima esperienza spirituale è regalata anche dal chiostro, ove è stata ricreata una piccola grotta di Lourdes. Ma la vera forza di questo luogo santo sta nelle opere assistenziali - e in particolare nella Mensa - nelle quali si vede la vera Chiesa Cattolica, sposa di Cristo, perpetuatrice della Sua Missione ad Gentes. Invito tutti a regalarsi una piccola pausa, anche di pochi minuti, dagli affanni della vita, raccogliendosi in preghiera in questo luogo particolarmente benedetto da Dio. Ne uscirete certamente ristorati! Truly a place of Grace, where holiness is breathed in every corner. The presence of Sant'Egidio, whose body is preserved, is felt in a way I would dare to say 'physical'. The statue of Santa Maria Francesca of the Five Wounds, who attended, in life, painting places and the image of San Pasquale, with his relics placed behind the altar, give a tangible sense of welcome, instilling a lot of serenity. A church to visit also to admire its architectural composure and the valuable altarpieces. To say the least suggestive the cell and the chapel of Sant'Egidio, which can be accessed, on particular days, from via Carducci. A beautiful spiritual experience is also given by the cloister, where a small Lourdes grotto has been recreated. But the real strength of this holy place lies in the charitable works - and in particular in the Table - in which we see the true Catholic Church, the bride of Christ, perpetuating His Mission ad Gentes. I invite everyone to give themselves a little break, even for a few minutes, from the troubles of life, gathering in prayer in this place particularly blessed by God. You will certainly come out refreshed!

Nella città di Napoli, come importanza storica, risulta penalizzata rispetto ad altre (Duomo, Gesù Vecchio, Gesù Nuovo, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Paolo, a Santa Chiara, etc.) che contengono tesori di arte di ben altra portata! A beautiful church, located in the Chiaia area, which has always been frequented by people who live in the neighborhood. In più fuori c'era una persona senza tetto che mi ha detto che i vestiti che i fedeli donano alla parrocchia non vengono dati ai bisognosi gratis ( come dovrebbe essere) ma li fanno pagare. Mah.
