La chiesa di San Luigi, completata nel 1607, è appartenuta al complesso monastico delle Clarisse con il titolo di Madonna dell'Annunziata. Il convento, edificato tra il 1605 e il 1620, fu abitato dalle monache claustrali in esecuzione della bolla del 9 maggio 1618, del pontefice Paolo V. Presenta un semplice e spoglio prospetto su cui risalta una piccola finestra centrale finemente intagliata dal mastro scalpellino Pietro Antonio Pugliese. L'interno, con i muri perimetrali adorni di altari minori, è scandito in tre navate da quattro colonne doriche. Nel presbiterio è l'altare maggiore settecentesco in marmo con la statua di santa Chiara e il coro ligneo realizzato nel 1773 su committenza della famiglia Andriani.
Church of San Luigi
The church of San Luigi, completed in 1607, belonged to the monastic complex of the Poor Clares with the title of Madonna dell'Annunziata. The convent, built between 1605 and 1620, was inhabited by cloistered nuns in execution of the bull of May 9, 1618, by Pope Paul V. It presents a simple and bare prospect on which stands a small central window finely carved by the master stonemason Pietro Antonio Pugliese. The interior, with the perimeter walls adorned with minor altars, is divided into three naves by four Doric columns. In the presbytery there is the eighteenth-century marble high altar with the statue of Santa Chiara and the wooden choir built in 1773 on commission from the Andriani family.
