A colpo d'occhio ne risaltano almeno tre, la base alquanto massiccia e lineare, la parte centrale ricca di addobbi, colonne e statue, quella superiore alquanto spoglia e semplice. L'interno a sua volta "spiazza" in quanto, a mio avviso, in netto contrasto con la facciata, completamente intonacata di bianco, addobbata sobriamente e addirittura con un soffito ligneo color verde chiaro. This church has a very particular facade clearly realized in different times and styles. At a glance, at least three stand out, the rather massive and linear base, the central part full of decorations, columns and statues, the upper one somewhat bare and simple. The interior in turn "displaces" because, in my opinion, in stark contrast to the facade, completely white plastered, soberly decorated and even with a light green wooden ceiling.

La facciata, in carparo e in stile barocco, fu realizzata in due momenti differenti; la parte inferiore è ricca di figure umane e cariatidi addossate le une alle altre, mentre la parte superiore presenta forme più leggere. L'interno, ad un'unica navata con pianta a croce latina e tre cappelle per parte. Tra i diversi altari, tutti rifatti, spicca quello della Madonna del Rosario con i quindici misteri posti sull'altare a sinistra. Molto bella ed è consigliata una visita sia alla chiesa, al vicino convento dei Domenicani, alla fontana del Toro di fronte alla chiesa e a tutta la città. The church of San Domenico di Nardò was built for the Dominican Order between 1580 and 1594 and initially named after Santa Maria de Recommendedatis. The facade, in carparo and in Baroque style, was built in two different moments; the lower part is rich in human figures and caryatids leaning against each other, while the upper part has lighter shapes. The interior has a single nave with a Latin cross plan and three chapels on each side. Among the various altars, all redone, that of the Madonna del Rosario stands out with the fifteen mysteries placed on the altar on the left. Very beautiful and a visit is recommended both to the church, to the nearby Dominican convent, to the Toro fountain in front of the church and to the whole city.
