β β β β β A far-off-the-list of churches in an area that would seem to be remote but still has heavy tourist traffic. A small but lovely church by Codussi. Square in plan with a bi-lateral crossing (a Greek cross) producing a square in the center bay with a dome. A nice example of how much art and architecture can be packed into a small building. A place more favored by the art aficionados for the beautiful sculpture and paintings, especially a St. Jerome with Saints Christopher and Augustine by Bellini. As a gentle note: as with all churches be respectful. This a neighborhood church and they try to maintain the sanctity of the space in spite of the thundering hordes passing by. If mass is in process either do not go in or put the phones and cameras away and join the service.

This church is very beautiful, like many others small churches in Venice. I haven't taken photos inside there because there is an advice on the entrance which mentions that is prohibited to take photos. The visitation worth it!

β β β β β Amazing and beautiful church. We were so lucky to get in right as they were closing, but had enough time to enjoy and say a short prayer. The altars are magical. Such amazing paintings and statues. This is a must see when in Venice. We are so lucky to have found it.
