★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La costruzione ebbe inizio nel 1882 e venne successivamente ampliata tra il 1936 e il 1951.
Presenta una sobria facciata tipicamente neoclassica, con quattro lesene scanalate e capitelli ionici su cui poggia un frontone triangolare. Una lunetta decorata con un mosaico raffigurante il Santo sovrasta il portale d'ingresso.
L'interno, a croce latina, ha navata unica e grande presbiterio rialzato terminate con un abside illuminato da un finestrone ad archetti e sottili colonne.
Imponenti colonne con capitelli corinzi sostengono le volte a crociera, la grande cupola all'incrocio con i transetti e la cupola più piccola sul braccio anteriore della navata.
Numerosi affreschi decorano le strutture superiori quali la cupola piccola, le lunette dei transetti e il catino absidale su cui sono riportati episodi della vita di San Francesco.
Particolarmente pregevole l'affresco del napoletano Gaetano Bocchetti che decora la cupola grande.
Construction began in 1882 and was subsequently expanded between 1936 and 1951.
It has a sober, typically neoclassical facade, with four fluted pilasters and Ionic capitals on which a triangular pediment rests. A lunette decorated with a mosaic depicting the Saint dominates the entrance portal.
The interior, in the shape of a Latin cross, has a single nave and a large raised presbytery terminated with an apse illuminated by a large window with arches and thin columns.
Imposing columns with Corinthian capitals support the cross vaults, the large dome at the intersection with the transepts and the smaller dome on the front arm of the nave.
Numerous frescoes decorate the upper structures such as the small dome, the lunettes of the transepts and the apsidal basin on which episodes from the life of St. Francis are reported.
Particularly valuable is the fresco by the Neapolitan Gaetano Bocchetti which decorates the large dome.
