★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È adiacente al cimitero, è tra le più antiche di Formia, risalente al XII sec. Fondata dai monaci benedettini deve il suo nome al fatto che si trovasse in un bosco di castagni. Fu restaurata negli anni '30.
L' edificio è fatto di materiale di riciclo di un antico tempio romano.
Unico punto di riferimento per detta zona (Castagneto), oggi non si trova più isolata. Presenta affreschi medievali, è visitabile in quanto vi si svolgono funzioni religiose.
 It is adjacent to the cemetery, it is among the oldest in Formia, dating back to the XII century. Founded by Benedictine monks, it owes its name to the fact that it was located in a chestnut wood. It was restored in the 1930s.
The building is made of recycled material from an ancient Roman temple.
The only point of reference for this area (Castagneto), today it is no longer isolated. It has medieval frescoes, it can be visited as religious functions are held there.
