Un luogo molto bello e silenzioso con un panorama stupendo sia verso la valle che verso il paese A small church is a bit 'far from the center .. D	Domenico Luciano Moretti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa, una volta dedicata a San Leonardo si trova sotto l’attuale strada panoramica, e una volta era vicino ad una delle porte della città,subito fuori la cinta muraria. E’ situata nella valle di Sant’Oronzo, detta anche dei Penitenti e dalla chiesa e il suo spiazzale si ha un ottima vista del golfo di Manfredonia. All’interno le parti in muratura sono fuse con le parti scavate nella roccia. Si possono ammirare le statue di S.Leonardo,della Madonna delle Grazie e di San Giacomo Maggiore. Nel presbiterio sopraelevato, a destra dell’altare maggiore c’è la statua della Madonna Incoronata a cui deve adesso il nome. Sicuramente questa chiesa in passato era utilizzata per l’accoglienza ai pellegrini che andavano al santuario dell’Arcangelo. La chiesa e il panorama sono stupendi, peccato che raramente la troverete aperta, ultimante so che dei volontari hanno ripulito il piazzale e le zone vicine ma purtroppo resta ancora molta sporcizia. Un posto stupendo rovinato dall'incuria e inciviltà umana, visitatelo e nonostante tutto non ve ne pentirete! The church, once dedicated to San Leonardo, is located under the current panoramic road, and was once near one of the city gates, just outside the city walls. It is situated in the valley of Sant’Oronzo, also known as the Penitents and from the church and its open space there is an excellent view of the Gulf of Manfredonia. Inside the masonry parts are merged with the parts carved into the rock. You can admire the statues of St. Leonardo, the Madonna delle Grazie and San Giacomo Maggiore. In the raised presbytery, to the right of the main altar there is the statue of the Crowned Madonna to which the name now belongs. Surely this church in the past was used for welcoming pilgrims going to the sanctuary of the Archangel. The church and the view are wonderful, too bad that you will rarely find it open, finally I know that volunteers have cleaned up the square and the nearby areas but unfortunately there is still a lot of dirt. A beautiful place ruined by human neglect and incivility, visit it and in spite of everything you will not regret it!
