L’antica chiesa è databile tra il IX e il X secolo
DescrizioneLa Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata, ubicata nella zona più alta del centro antico del comune di Genzano di Lucania, gode di una vista suggestiva della valle, ha un bellissimo portale rinascimentale esposto a oriente, con due antichi solari, conserva dipinti di notevole valore artistico, tra cui due tele raffiguranti l'Annunciazione e la Sacra Famiglia; interessante il sontuoso pergamo in legno dorato su cui risalta lo stemma dei Sancia, divenuto poi lo stemma di Genzano. Dall'alto del campanile, a forma di torretta ottagonale, pendono due campane, fuse rispettivamente nel 1443 e nel 1556.

Description The Church of the Santissima Annunziata, located in the highest area of the ancient center of the municipality of Genzano di Lucania, enjoys a suggestive view of the valley, has a beautiful Renaissance portal facing east, with two ancient solar panels, preserves paintings of considerable artistic value , including two canvases depicting the Annunciation and the Holy Family; the sumptuous gilded wood pulpit on which stands the Sancia coat of arms, which later became the coat of arms of Genzano, is interesting. From the top of the bell tower, in the shape of an octagonal tower, two bells hang, merged respectively in 1443 and 1556.
