★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La pristina chiesa sarebbe sorta nell'ultimo quarto del secolo XVII presso un'edicola con un Crocifisso che si diceva dipinto "coi succhi della persa, o maggiorana, od anche majorana" (Rasà Napoli), ivi al tempo assai diffusa, e fu devastata dal sisma del 1693, ma dovette risorgere subito dopo perché un'iscrizione all'interno l’attesta nel 1702.
 The pristine church was to be built in the last quarter of the seventeenth century at a kiosk with a crucifix which was said to have been painted "with the juices of the lost, or marjoram, or even majorana" (Rasà Napoli), there at the time very widespread, and was devastated from the earthquake of 1693, but had to rise again soon after because an inscription inside witnessed it in 1702.
