La storia di questa chiesa, comincia quanto la baronessa Isabella de Rosis, tra il 1884 e il 1885, fece erigere una cappella dedicata al Sacro Cuore di Gesù. Nel 1889, la nobile ne fece dono ai padri Salesiani, che posero la prima pietra per gli ingrandimenti. Tre anni dopo, l'edificio fu affiancato anche da un istituto, progettato da Giuseppe Carelli e finanziato anche grazie a due lotterie che si svolsero nella vicina Villa Patrizi. The church of the Sacred Heart of the Salesians is one of the historic churches of Naples; is located in the Vomero district. The history of this church begins when the Baroness Isabella de Rosis, between 1884 and 1885, had a chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus erected. In 1889, the noble gave it to the Salesian fathers, who laid the first stone for enlargements. Three years later, the building was also joined by an institute, designed by Giuseppe Carelli and financed also thanks to two lotteries that took place in nearby Villa Patrizi.

Ho studiato anche nel loro Liceo Classico, oggi ci sono anche più indirizzi, ho frequentato l'Oratorio da ragazzo, e frequento da tanto tempo la Messa quotidiana in Parrocchia. Per tanti anni hanno portato gli insegnamenti di don bosco un po' a tutti i ragazzi...una giornata impegnata nella studio, lavoro e divertimento per crescere sani e lontano da tentazioni autodemolenti. Don Pontiggia, don Caraviello(il carocchiaro), don de Paolis e poi il Pinguotto... Brancaleone...le partite a calcetto e basket. Purtroppo anche loro sono sotto attacco del maligno e non offrono più tanto... An institution in the vomero.
