Nel 1947 fu dedicata alla Madonna della Consolazione, la cui statua lignea ottocentesca si conserva sull’altare maggiore. E’ conosciuta anche come Chiesa del Purgatorio sia perché l’attuale via Cavour, su cui si affaccia l’edificio, era chiamata un tempo “Strada del Purgatorio”, sia perché dietro l’altare si conservava un antico dipinto raffigurante le anime del Purgatorio oggi andato perduto. Di notevole importanza artistica è un ciclo di dipinti del pittore contemporaneo Giambecchina.
church, originally dedicated to Sant'Antonio Abate, dates back to 1739-1769. In 1947 it was dedicated to the Madonna della Consolazione, whose nineteenth-century wooden statue is preserved on the main altar. It is also known as the Church of Purgatory both because the current via Cavour, on which the building overlooks, was once called "Strada del Purgatorio", and because behind the altar there was an ancient painting depicting the souls of Purgatory today gone lost. Of notable artistic importance is a cycle of paintings by the contemporary painter Giambecchina.
