I had heard about this place from a blog post. It's true. It is the best rate in the city. I was quoted at most 79 euro for $100 at most change counters around Florence but at this location they gave us 86 euro for $100. We compared this to our ATM rate (88.3 euro for $100) (250 euro for $278 [including our bank's fee]) and this cash rate at this location is incredible. If you need cash conversion walk here and nowhere else.

Very nice man with very fair exchange rates. I went to the chain currency exchange places located all over the place and they were offering 119-134 euro for $200. Same day, I got $158 euro for $200 from Marco. Some good conversation as well. Tiny little place that can be easily missed, but worth finding.

Best rate we've had in Italy. No fees at all. Nice guy. Helped us navigate our way round the city map too. HIGHLY recommend. Definitely exchange your cash here. Worth the walk. Will save you hundreds of dollars in fees and poor rates elsewhere.

By far the best rates in Florence! Marco is fantastic! If you need to exchange currency in Florence, just go here (by all means go to one of the others first, just so you know how much better the rates are here).

Best rates! The only place I could find that gave 85 euros to 100 USD. In Rome, Venice and Florence, I was getting ripped off, losing close to $20 in fees. Definitely glad I spotted this tiny shop. It's easy to miss!

Best exchange rate in Firenze and Carlos is a very nice and amicable man. Definitely come here to exchange your dollars. We exchanged at 82 Euros per 100 dollars. The market rate that day was 87. 6 percent commission is as good as you're gonna get in italy unfortunately. I would recommend next time exchanging already in your home country all the money you'll need.

Marco has reopened! Today is his first day back open -- I am visiting Florence and was very disappointed to learn that Marco and his father had closed over the pandemic (understandable, of course, that they would close). I kept walking by the shop once a day midday to see if they would re-open since Florence is already teaming with tourists (I know, I am one of them). To my great luck, today Marco was there and still offering a great rate! He said he will be open whenever the Uffizi is open (so closed Mondays) and he will be closed for Easter. His rate is *astronomically* better than other exchanges and is close to the fees you would pay to use the ATM (and less if your bank and the Italian bank charge you fees). Plus, he is a local Florentine so I would rather him have my fees than the bank.
