★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-see if you're in town. The cathedral is largely devoid of mural paintings, but Giorgione's Castelfranco Madonna more than makes up for it. And the architecture is grand. (And access is free, which is never a bad thing)

Rather austere inside apart from Giorgione's famous Madonna.

But don’t forget to see the painting by Giorgione of the Madonna with St. Francis and St George (aka Liberalis) and the altar with the martyr “Guistino”. Added bonus: this is also the Cathedral in which Giuseppe Sato was ordained a priest – he who later became Pope Saint Pius X!
