★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendido esempio di romanico pugliese con influenze normanno-arabe nell'utilizzo di una bicromia grigio verde negli archi cechi che caratterizzano le facciate laterali della cattedrale. Tracce della cultura ebraica e islamica si ritrovano sopratutto sul lato sinistro dell'edificio. Lo splendido monumento da sola giustifica una visita alla cittadina di Troia. Antichissima, fondata circa 2 secoli prima di Roma e conquistata da Annibale. Nel medioevo fu governata da potenti Vescovi-conti che ne fecero sede di diversi concili. Legata al papato si oppose a Federico II che per questo suo legame con il papa la distrusse. Ma il pezzo forte della facciata, oltre le porte di bronzo, è lo splendido rosone. Unico nel suo genere è vero e proprio merletto di pietra. L'interno svela una sovrapposizione di stili che coesistono tra le navate e il transetto. Romanico, gotico e barocco. Interessanti due resti di affreschi tardo medievali. Non dimenticate, prima di andarvene, di dare un'occhiata al l'abside esterna.
 Splendid example of Romanesque Puglia with Norman-Arab influences the use of a gray green bichromy in blind arches that characterize the side facades of the cathedral. Traces of Jewish and Islamic culture can be found above all on the left side of the building. The splendid monument alone justifies a visit to the town of Troy. Very ancient, founded about 2 centuries before Rome and conquered by Hannibal. In the Middle Ages it was governed by powerful Bishops-counts who made it the seat of various councils. Linked to the papacy, he opposed Frederick II, who destroyed his family because of his connection with the Pope. But the highlight of the façade, beyond the bronze doors, is the splendid rose window. Unique in its kind is real stone lace. The interior reveals an overlap of styles that coexist between the aisles and the transept. Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. Interesting two remains of late medieval frescoes. Do not forget, before leaving, to take a look at the external apse.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Très belle cathédrale de Troia située sur une petite place de la ville. Une façade exceptionnelle, travaillée et ciselée de façon remarquable. L’intérieur est plus sobre et laisse une belle place à la pierre. À noter les deux magnifiques rosaces et la colonne doublée pour avoir un total de 13. Des fresques sur les murs marquent le passé lointain de l’édifice.
Very beautiful Cathedral of Troia located on a small town square. An exceptional facade, worked and chiseled in a remarkable way. The interior is more sober and leaves plenty of room for stone. Note the two magnificent rosettes and the doubled column for a total of 13. Frescoes on the walls mark the building's distant past.
