La struttura recentemente scoperta ha una forma ellissoidale definita da due muri in opera a sacco, divisi da un'intercapedine, e con il paramento esterno in opera vittata. I confronti più vicini per la struttura ellittica rientrano nella categoria delle palestre e soprattutto degli anfiteatri, anche se è evidente come in questo caso manchino gli elementi strutturali di sostegno della cavea, ma non sembra inverosimile ipotizzare che l'impianto utilizzasse il terrapieno naturale. Tipologicamente l'impianto anfiteatrale potrebbe essere avvicinato ai tipi cosiddetti "provinciali", privi dell'elevato tipico, con arena scavata e cavea che poggia in parte su un'elevazione naturale e in parte costruita a terrapieno frazionato. La datazione di questo edificio che era comunque adibito a spettacoli può essere fissata nel I sec. d.C.
L’anfiteatro è quindi il primo rinvenimento di carattere urbanistico riferibile ad una zona pubblica di Tifernum Tiberinum.

The recently discovered structure has an ellipsoidal shape defined by two walls in opus a sac, divided by a cavity, and with the external facing in opus vittata. The closest comparisons for the elliptical structure fall into the category of gyms and above all amphitheaters, although it is evident that in this case the structural elements supporting the cavea are missing, but it does not seem improbable to hypothesize that the system used the natural embankment. Typologically, the amphitheatrical system could be similar to the so-called "provincial" types, lacking the typical elevation, with an excavated arena and cavea that rests partly on a natural elevation and partly built on a fractional embankment. The dating of this building which was still used for shows can be fixed in the first century. A.D.
The amphitheater is therefore the first discovery of an urban nature referable to a public area of Tifernum Tiberinum.
