Grazie alla passione di chi si adopera all'interno del sito, con i pochi mezzi a disposizione, giornalmente vengono riportati alla luce frammenti di un tempo remoto, che ci raccontano il "Come eravamo". A partire dal direttore, ai volontari, agli studenti, che hanno fatto dell'archeologia una ragione di vita, è notevole l'impegno profuso nell'intento di ripercorrere la strada che ci ha portato fin qui. Durante i vari scavi che si fanno anno dopo anno, con la partecipazione internazionale di esperti vengono messi alla luce molti reperti e costruzioni della vecchia castrum novum. Purtroppo hanno constatato che alcuni siti sono stati già visitati in passato da abusivi rubando quello che potevano asportare. Il luogo è favoloso e circa 10 anni fa avevo pubblicato due foto, con la funzione di panoramio. Nel sito ancora non c'erano scavi, è bella la vista del monte argentario e sull'altra foto dopo il tramonto l’isola del giglio e l’argentario. Mi sono accorto che panoramio ha chiuso e quindi li ho aggiunti sperando che si possano vedere insieme a tutte le altre foto che sono più belle delle mie, dello stesso sito e dintorni. Unfortunately, they found that some sites have already been visited by squatters in the past, stealing what they could remove. The place is fabulous and about 10 years ago I had posted two photos, with the panorama function. There were still no excavations on the site, the view of Mount Argentario is beautiful and the other photo after sunset of the island of lily and argentario. I realized that panoramio has closed and so I added them hoping that they can be seen together with all the other photos that are more beautiful than mine, from the same site and surroundings. P	Patrizia Martinelli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'area archeologica, gestita dal GATC, ha restituito i resti di un municipio romano eretto nel III secolo a. C. Il sito ha avuto una lunga vita ed è stato abitato sicuramente fino al V secolo d. C. Dotato di un cateto militare, di un teatro, di cinta muraria, porte, peschiere, ville e ambienti commerciali, deve essere ancora completamente studiato e scavato. Il sito ha restituito statue, ceramica, monete fin dal XVIII secolo, in occasione degli scavi condotti dalla Cameea Apostolica i reperti sono esposti al Museo di Civitavecchia e al Pio Clementino (Mussi Vaticani). Anche se sono romano di Roma e ne ho visti di scavi, sono rimasto affascinato dalla semplicità con cui riemerge la storia in questo luogo.
