★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posto sperduto nella valle del fiume Merse, la strutta un vecchio castello medievale è in stato pericolante ma si può comunque accedere con cautela. Un bel sentiero per arrivare costeggia il fiume Merse da aprile a ad metà settembre può essere balneabile, le acque sono molto trasparenti e belle. Consigliato
 Lost in the valley of the river Merse, the structure, an old medieval castle, is in a state of unsafe but can still be accessed with caution. A nice path to get there along the river Merse from April to mid-September can be bathed, the waters are very transparent and beautiful. Recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Veramente un luogo incantato dove si cerca di capire quello che facevano gli abitanti di questo castello immerso nella riserva naturale Alto Merse. Si apprezzano anche i tentativi di restauro non andati a buon fine. Il problema potrebbe essere la viabilità. Impossibile da raggiungere il luogo con in mezzo comune. Al momento occorrono dei fuoristrada. Comunque bellissima escursione.
Truly an enchanted place where you try to understand what the inhabitants of this castle were doing immersed in the Alto Merse nature reserve. The unsuccessful attempts at restoration are also appreciated. The problem could be the viability. Impossible to reach the place with in common. At the moment we need off-road vehicles. However beautiful excursion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'ascesa alle rovine dell'antico castello ripaga dalle fatiche, non solo per la scoperta del vecchio fortilizio, oggi restaurato nelle strutture ma chiuso al pubblico, ma anche per il paesaggio naturale che si assapora lungo il percorso ricco d'acqua, di boschi rigogliosi, disseminati di antichi mulini.
The ascent to the ruins of the ancient castle repays the efforts, not only for the discovery of the old fortress, now restored in its structures but closed to the public, but also for the natural landscape that can be savored along the path full of water, woods luxuriant, scattered with ancient mills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo rudere medioevale Senese quasi millenario, purtroppo chiuso al pubblico sebbene sia stato ristrutturato di recente.per arrivarci bisogna percorrere il sentiero CAI 400 partendo o da Stigliano, oppure Brenna o Spannocchia
Beautiful medieval Sienese ruin almost millenary, unfortunately closed to the public although it has been recently renovated. To get there you have to take the CAI 400 path starting either from Stigliano, or Brenna or Spannocchia
