Nel 1199, dal Registrum Magnum risulta che gli abitanti di Seminò si sottomisero al comune di Piacenza impegnandosi a erigere un nuovo dongione per difendere la postazione dagli attacchi dei pavesi. Nel 1347 era di proprietà dei Leccacorvi, mentre nel 1372 venne distrutto, insieme a molti altri fortilizi della vallata, da parte di Giovanni Acuto. Col nome di Castrum Seminoti, a partire dal 1597, estinta la famiglia Leccacorvi, vide vari passaggi di mano. The foundation of the castle, originally called Sanctum Miniatum, could be prior to the year one thousand; in a document of 1027 the church of Santa Mostiola which once stood near the castle is mentioned. In 1199, the Registrum Magnum shows that the inhabitants of Seminò submitted to the municipality of Piacenza by undertaking to erect a new dungeon to defend the position from the attacks of the Pavesi. In 1347 it was owned by the Leccacorvi, while in 1372 it was destroyed, along with many other fortresses in the valley, by Giovanni Acuto. With the name of Castrum Seminoti, starting from 1597, the Leccacorvi family became extinct, and saw various changes of hands.
