S	Simone Scozzari on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edificato come fortilizio, tra i secoli XII-XIII, si presenta oggi come una poderosa struttura residenziale a pianta trapezoidale, rinforzata da tre torri agli angoli. Una quarta torre, di cui si notano le vestigia sul muro, fu spianata durante l'assedio spagnolo. Il castello, anticamente circondato da fossato e accessibile dal ponte levatoio, è oggi raggiungibile dalla rampa in muratura che conduce all'imponente portale di ingresso. Built as a fortress between the 12th and 13th centuries, it is today a mighty residential structure with a trapezoidal plan, reinforced by three towers at the corners. A fourth tower, the vestiges of which can be seen on the wall, was leveled during the Spanish siege. The castle, formerly surrounded by a moat and accessible from the drawbridge, is now reachable from the masonry ramp that leads to the imposing entrance portal.

Castello di pianura, edificato come fortilizio tra il XII e il XIII secolo e posseduto dai potenti Marchesi del Carretto, viene nel tempo trasformato in una poderosa struttura residenziale. Anticamente circondato da un fossato e quindi accessibile da un ponte levatoio, oggi si raggiunge il portale d'ingresso da una rampa in muratura. All'interno si possono ammirare ancora taluni affreschi del trecento. The Castle of Saliceto is located along the Salt Road that once connected Liguria to Piedmont. Castle of the plain, built as a fortress between the 12th and 13th centuries and owned by the powerful Marquises del Carretto, has been transformed over time into a powerful residential structure. Formerly surrounded by a moat and therefore accessible from a drawbridge, today one reaches the entrance portal from a masonry ramp. Inside you can admire some frescoes of the fourteenth century.
