★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This magnificent medieval castle was originally built between the 9th and 11th centuries. Restored in 1888, it became a national monument in 1981, and was transformed into a hotel and restaurant in 1991. By staying at this Castello, you are contemplating over a thousand years of history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful location but it ends there! Staff is unprofessional, No Air Conditioning and the mosquitoes will eat you alive! A true healthy hazard! Did I mention no staff or elevators to haul your luggage to the top of the castle to check in! The 4 Star Rating was bought by the owners. Stay Away from castello dell'inferno!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This castle is definitively a beautiful historical place. My comment relates to the restaurant and the meeting room for conferences. Beside that the place is wonderful I believe that some of the equipments and furnitures needs to be replaced. I am thinking about the chairs, screen and projector in the conference room as well as some equipment in the bathroom and toilets. The restaurant is really nice both for the environment and for the food with a good option of local wines.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fish was perfectly cooked and the staff was friendly and helpful. The tartar was not great. Leaned pretty hard on the intense anchovy sauce. The castle is beautiful, but the management had decided to add a giant tacky sign visible from the highway to their amazing building. Inside the beautiful dining room, they had ugly plastic flowers, and other accents that were in bad taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are non-tolerant to east-europeans and families with children. We just wanted to make few steps in the castle yard and take some photos, but we were not allowed to do that, despite the fact that others were walking there and making photos freely.
It is really sad to see such a behaviour in the middle of the "free and tolerant" Europe.
Not recommended at all. Better to go to the other castles around.
