★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sito molto antico, con testimonianze di vita risalenti al V-IV sec. a.C., probabilmente un phrourion greco. Citato nella documentazione normanna a partire dal 1139, divenne un casale di discreta importanza alla fine del '200, durante la guerra del Vespro, posto com'è in un'area di grande importanza strategica all'interno della viabilità siciliana medievale: da qui è visibile infatti tutta l'alta valle del Simeto. Del castello rimangono pochi ruderi in cattivo stato di conservazione.
Very ancient site, with evidence of life dating back to the V-IV century. BC, probably a Greek phrourion. Cited in the Norman documentation from 1139, it became a fairly important farmhouse at the end of the 13th century, during the Vespers war, located as it is in an area of great strategic importance within the medieval Sicilian road network: from here it is visible in fact the whole upper Simeto valley. Of the castle few ruins remain in a bad state of conservation.
