L'insediamento si è spopolato durante le guerre tra le due città, la popolazione si trasferì presso l'attuale borgo. All'interno addossata alle mura vi è una chiesetta, dedicata al Santissimo Crocifisso, in una visita pastorale il vescovo Lascaris l'edificio risulta essere" in stato di abbandono e l'unico altare denudato. Di recente è stato fatto un lavoro di restauro sia della chiesa che delle mura. Il posto è eccezionale si ha una visione a 360° su buona parte dell'Umbria meridionale.
