Luogo suggestivo, di grande atmosfera e dalla storia molto antica che si può facilmente trovare su internet, risalendo una corrente del tempo che rimonta fino al medio evo e di sicuro interesse storico. Pubblico alcune foto per far cogliere la suggestione del luogo. Currently owned by the family (the heirs) of a painter count better known by the name of Balthus, now deceased. An evocative place, with a great atmosphere and a very ancient history that can be easily found on the internet, dating back to a current of time that goes back to the Middle Ages and is certainly of historical interest. I publish some photos to let you grasp the suggestion of the place.

C	Cristina Di on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La struttura del castello di Balthus è imponente e racconta in parte la sua storia, iniziata nel Medioevo. Un vero peccato non approfondirla, visto che ad agosto 2020 è stato impossibile prenotare una visita guidata all'interno della magione, un po' per via del CoVid, un po' perchè si tratta di una dimora privata (appartenente, come è noto, alla famiglia del celebre pittore francese) non sempre abitata e aperta al pubblico. Imperdonabili, a mio avviso, i segni di incuria visibili in alcune parti della corte interna, dove il visitatore viene accolto dalla facciata della Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, purtroppo chiusa. Mancano anche informazioni leggibili in loco per i viaggiatori che dovessero capitare lì per caso. Bisogna cercarle in rete, sempre che il segnale della vostra compagnia telefonica vi assista. In ogni caso, soggiornare all'ombra di questo castello, in una casa vacanze molto carina e accogliente del minuscolo borgo di Montecalvello, è stata un'esperienza degna di nota. The structure of Balthus Castle is impressive and partly tells its story, which began in the Middle Ages. A real shame not to deepen it, given that in August 2020 it was impossible to book a guided tour inside the mansion, partly because of the CoVid, partly because it is a private residence (belonging, as is known, to the family of the famous French painter) not always inhabited and open to the public. In my opinion, the signs of neglect visible in some parts of the internal courtyard, where the visitor is welcomed by the facade of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, unfortunately closed, are unforgivable. There is also a lack of readable information on site for travelers who happen to be there by chance. You have to look for them on the net, as long as the signal from your telephone company assists you. In any case, staying in the shadow of this castle, in a very nice and welcoming holiday home in the tiny hamlet of Montecalvello, was a noteworthy experience.

Limoni e melograni grandi come meloncini. Unica nota sgradevole: nella terza foto potete vedere un pugno nell'occhio arancione, in mezzo a casette antiche una casa con cortina a mattoncini di dubbio gusto Absolutely unexpected in a tiny village, an imposing castle, all open, without a soul except us two, three English tourists and their little dog. Lemons and pomegranates as big as melon. The only unpleasant note: in the third photo you can see an orange fist, in the midst of old houses a house with a brick wall of dubious taste
