★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un borgo-palazzo prenestino -
Al confine est della provincia romana s'erge una fabrica di storia, architettura e urbanistica, ben degna - alla sua scala - di più rinomate città-palazzo d'Italia. Mal divulgata e poco sfruttata, di solito se ne possono godere solo gli esterni - restando gli interni occasionalmente accessibili.
Carnascialesca lingua di menelicche - epperò non retrattile - la pensilina in cls armato realizzata dal genio civile nel secondo dopoguerra, in dissonante ricostruzione del passo "ad acquedotto romano", che in origine collegava il Castello al soprastante Parco e all'approvvigionamento idrico. Tanto più grave per aver esautorato Porta Romana, contribuendo a invertire il senso principale dell'accesso al Borgo e negando il moto ascendente dell'esplorazione e della scoperta del suo Culmine. Per comprendere in parte la lacerazione imposta da quel disgiuntivo restauro critico (?), si consulti con Google la "Genazzano sparita" della Pro Loco.

 A prenestino village-palace -
On the eastern border of the Roman province stands a factory of history, architecture and urban planning, well worthy - on its scale - of the most famous palace-cities in Italy. Poorly disclosed and underused, usually only the exteriors can be enjoyed - while the interiors remain occasionally accessible.
Carnascial language of menelicks - and yet not retractable - the reinforced concrete canopy built by the civil engineer after World War II, in dissonant reconstruction of the "Roman aqueduct" step, which originally connected the Castle to the park above and to the water supply. All the more serious for having ousted Porta Romana, helping to reverse the main sense of access to the Borgo and denying the upward motion of exploration and the discovery of its Culmine. To partially understand the laceration imposed by that disjunctive critical restoration (?), Consult with Google the "Genazzano disappeared" of the Pro Loco.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historical buildings and architecture. When we visited the local school children had created a floral collage on the pavements leading to the Castello Colonna.
Genezanno is a small town in the province of Rome, and the floral murals are a tradition that the town has held over many decades, and it was very impressive to see all the time and effort that went into the displays.
I also have relatives who live there and we try to visit as often as possible.
If you have a desire to see the real Italy, then I recommend you take a less commercial vacation and seek out venues such as this.
I was suitably impressed as was my wife.
