★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il castello e' stato in parte restaurato e' possibile visitarlo parzialmente viste le non ottime condizioni dei resti. Teoricamente e' possibile tramite scale interne accedere alla torre del mastio ma il cancello risultava chiuso. Ottimo punto panoramico inserito nell'itinerario la via imperiale. E' possibile raggiungerlo solo a piedi.
The castle has been partially restored and it is possible to visit it partially given the poor condition of the remains. Theoretically it is possible through internal stairs to access the tower of the keep but the gate was closed. Excellent panoramic point included in the itinerary the imperial road. It is possible to reach it only on foot.

Era aperto e siamo saliti fino in cima da nuove scale in ferro molto sicure.
Da lì si gode di uno stupendo panorama.
Adatto a tutti.
Ci si arriva abbastanza comodamente in auto dal paese.
Castle with renovated tower,
It was open and we went up to the top by new very safe iron stairs.
From there you can enjoy a wonderful panorama.
Suitable for everyone.
You can get there quite comfortably by car from the town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posto incantevole ricchissimo di storia. Al di fuori delle rotte turistiche un vero e proprio gioiello. Immerso nei meleti, il periodo migliore per visitarlo fine agosto a mio avviso.
Lovely place rich in history. Outside the tourist routes a real jewel. Immersed in the apple orchards, the best time to visit it at the end of August in my opinion.

La sua storia è molto antica.
Fu costruito probabilmente sui resti di una fortificazione romana.
Era di proprietà della potente famiglia degli Spaur ( attuali proprietari del bellissimo e vicino Castel Valer, a Tassullo...) e controllava il transito sull'antica Via Imperiale.
Nel suo passato ci sono battaglie ( contro i rivali conti di Thun..) ed avvenimenti storici ( come la misteriosa morte nel castello di un Principe Vescovo..).
Rimangono fondamentalmente la torre ( restaurata ed accessibile con scale di ferro) ed alcuni resti delle mura.
Si raggiunge con un comodo sentiero dal paese di Sporminore.
Bello il panorama.
It is a romantic ruin.
Its history is very old.
It was probably built on the remains of a Roman fortification.
It was owned by the powerful Spaur family (current owners of the beautiful and nearby Castel Valer, in Tassullo ...) and controlled the transit on the ancient Via Imperiale.
In its past there are battles (against the rival counts of Thun ..) and historical events (such as the mysterious death in the castle of a Prince Bishop ..).
Basically the tower remains (restored and accessible with iron stairs) and some remains of the walls.
It can be reached with an easy path from the town of Sporminore.
The view is beautiful.
