During the pandemic there are visiting shifts and you need to do an online reservation before coming to the castle. It can be done in just five minutes. I did it in the castleโs gate just before my turn.
The base ticket is โฌ6. You can also purchase a guided tour for an extra โฌ10.
The base ticket grants access to the courtyard, chapel, museum and main hall. They are interesting and worth the visit if you like art and want to see the inside of the castle.
The guided tour wasnโt worth it for me. Our guide was very nice and warm but at times it was difficult to understand his English. You get to see the dungeons and hear some of the castleโs history in the tour but not much else.

โ โ โ โ โ It's allright; 6 euro's for the museum and 10 for the guided tour. Which you have to book in advance (just book in line via QR during Covid like we did) the tour itself is as I said allright.
The castle, as the name suggest has been renovated heavily because of its strategic position over time.
So it lacks some original structure that many of the other sights in Naples have (To be fair this is nothing the castle itself can fix, but during the tour you will hear alot "this part is not from the original castle").
If in the area might as well visit, otherwise you can skip it if not deemed necessary.

โ โ โ โ โ May be we can spend 30 mins here, lovely place with splendid view, I guess we should book tickets online, we noticed they provide qr code to book the ticket, so better if done advance to avoid ques.

โ โ โ โ โ Do not go if you don't speak Italian. The tourist guide couldn't say a word. We had to reserve the tickets online, pay 16โฌ for a few not famous paintings, and have a tourist guide that wasn't really a guide. She just opened a door to enter the prisons, and that was it. We even lost her at one point after she told us to go upstairs to watch the city. The view from the castle was not even pretty.
There are other Castels that are way better probably and in general other places that deserve your time.

โ โ โ โ โ Castel Nuovo is located by the harbour of Napoli. Interesting place although not well preserved. In one area of the castle, during the escavations it has been found an ancient necropolis. It can be visible through the glass floor. Unfortunately, the place lack of years of maintenance by the local administration. The surrounding area is quite dirty. If cleaned and preserved it could offer a great experience for many tourists.

โ โ โ โ โ Place you see only in movies, ancient castle with impressive architecture. Very nice from the outside both in day and night.
We didn't go in, it was enough from outside.
Need to book tickets before entrance and possible to purchase online.

โ โ โ โ โ The castle from the middle ages, with a beautiful architecture design. There is a glass covered section on the ground floor where you can see some human skeletons. Don't forget to visit the museum for a variety of good examples of art. And of course, enjoy the great view of Mount Vezuvio.
