Notevoli le tre sequoie giganti nel parco, monumenti naturalistici tutelati da legge provinciale che furono messe a dimora nel 1908. Da Matschatsch (ampio parcheggio) di diramano diversi sentieri e percorsi per ogni gusto, sia a piedi che in mountain bike. A very suggestive small castle, surrounded by rich vegetation. Noteworthy are the three giant sequoias in the park, nature monuments protected by provincial law that were planted in 1908. From Matschatsch (large parking lot) they branch off several paths and paths for every taste, both on foot and by mountain bike.

Ich hatte mich schon gewundert, einige Bilder zeigen es in Mitten von vielen Bäumen. Nach einer kurzen Recherche habe ich es dann an der Mendelpassstraßek (SS42 von Kaltern zum Mendelpass) lokalisiert. Genau gesagt etwa einen Kilometer nördlich der Einmündung der SS15, zwischen Kehre 5 und Kehre 6. Hier ist auch das vor langer Zeit geschlossene Gasthaus Matschatsch. Gegenüber ist eine Art Parkplatz und ein Steifen Wiese entlang der Straße. Witzigerweise scheint das Castel wirklich noch auf Eppaner Gemeindegebiet zu sein, wenn auch ganz am Rand. The Castel Matschatsch is NOT located on the Matschatscher Weg in Eppan. It was listed here until recently. I didn't find it here in Street View. I was wondering, some pictures show it in the middle of many trees. After a short research I then localized it on the Mendelpassstraßek (SS42 from Caldaro to the Mendelpass). To be precise, about one kilometer north of the junction with the SS15, between turns 5 and 6. This is also where the Matschatsch inn, which was closed a long time ago, is located. Opposite is some kind of parking lot and a stiff lawn along the road. Funnily enough, the Castel really seems to still be in Eppan's municipal area, albeit on the very edge.
