I found the excursion a bit challenging because of the difference in height, the ruins are right on top at 1044 meters, built in 1894 by a private individual, they were left to nature after his death. Personally, I liked it, even if only half-ruined ruins preserve the glories of the past and create a ghost village atmosphere.

Also reachable from Torno going up to Montepiatto, an old cobblestone mule track leads up to the ruins. The villa_castello, now covered with vegetation, still manages to convey its noble past. Wonderful panoramic view of Lake Como.

By now reduced ruin, quite dangerous to venture inside its walls for the continuous yielding of the same. I read somewhere that years ago it was used as a colony for children, from here you probably also enjoyed a discreet view of Lake Como, now impossible for the wild vegetation that surrounds it. It can be easily reached from San Maurizio (Brunate)

A star to the institutions, which leave a pearl so abandoned, without any kind of attention. Shame. Even the signs are left to chance, some indicate it and some do not. To think that it could be an excellent stopping point to enjoy the view and take two photos, for all the tourists who pass through these woods.

A ruined castle that we mark on the forest paths until you leave you to venture alone to find it… Do not waste time going there, it is dangerous and you will not be able to see the lake because of the vegetation . A shame.

Cheap rooms, a little drafty but it has a rustic feel.

It's an abandoned villa built far from any real road. Hike there to see it, but you shouldn't go into the grounds, there are apparently water pits that have been covered but are dangerous. Not worth hiking to only to see this, though the hike from Brunate to Torno via Montepiatto is very nice.

Don’t waste your time going there. The path is dangerous in some places and there is not much left of the castle. The surrounding are mostly trash and dirt. There’s also a sign saying it’s dangerous to go to the castle itself.
