Peccato che non sia stato allestito il mobilio della residenza di Carlo Levi. ottimo il video di presentazione nella sala multimediale che aveva, però, un'acustica mediocre per cui non sono riuscito a seguire in modo adeguato il video! E il paesino è molto carino e gli abitanti socievoli. It is nice to see how a person in confinement fell in love with the place so much that it was reciprocated by the inhabitants themselves. Everything here reminds Levi. And the village is very pretty and the inhabitants sociable.

Due suggerimenti per inquadrare e valorizzare meglio l'esperienza storica legata al confino di Levi e di tanti altri durante il ventennio 1) Spiegare in dettaglio come mai la Basilicata ed Aliano in particolare erano stati scelti come destinazione; spiegare in dettaglio che cosa è e come funziona il confino 2) cambiare le musiche del video proiettato nella casa museo. Sono strazianti e credo abbiano l'obiettivo di portare il visitatore a riflettere sulla povertà contadina del passato ma i tempi sono maturi per una riflessione diversa che non ci porti ad avere vergogna del passato Aliano is a beautiful place and worth a visit. Two suggestions to better frame and enhance the historical experience linked to the confinement of Levi and many others during the twenty years 1) Explain in detail why Basilicata and Aliano in particular had been chosen as a destination; explain in detail what the confinement is and how it works 2) change the music of the video projected in the house museum. They are heartbreaking and I think they have the aim of bringing the visitor to reflect on the peasant poverty of the past but the time is ripe for a different reflection that does not lead us to be ashamed of the past.

Nelle stanze viene proiettato un video con riprese dell'epoca e quadri dell'autore (che sono esposti nella pinacoteca accessibile con lo stesso biglietto della casa-museo) mentre una voce legge brani del libro. Very interesting visit. The house was purposely bare to remind the place of confinement as it was exactly. In the rooms a video is projected with footage from the time and the author's paintings (which are exhibited in the art gallery accessible with the same ticket as the house-museum) while a voice reads passages from the book.

Non riuscirei a descrivere il luogo meglio di Carlo Levi, per cui vi invito a leggere "Cristo si è fermato ad Eboli". Nonostante le ristrutturazioni che hanno dato modo all'abitato di raggiungere il nostro tempo, si percepisce tanto di ciò che Carlo Levi ha visto e vissuto nel suo confino in Lucania. I could only see the outside of the house, not having been informed about the opening hours to the public (closed in the early afternoon of a Sunday in January). I could not describe the place better than Carlo Levi, so I invite you to read "Christ stopped at Eboli". Despite the renovations that have allowed the town to reach our time, we can perceive a lot of what Carlo Levi saw and experienced in his confinement in Lucania.
