★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had not made a reservation, however the staff was willing to serve as long as we could keep it short. We agreed and ordered lasagna and meat loaf, both "local" dishes. Nothing wrong, nothing special.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this restaurant and bar in September of 2021 and had an absolutely delicious meal and the most lovely time. The owner had us taste some of the wine he makes from his vineyard on the coast of Abruzzo and we could only dream of getting it back here in the US. The food was outstanding. We had one of the best pastas for lunch one afternoon and dessert the owner's mother made that day was to die for. Can't wait to return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Update: I returned this past Friday night in early September 2021 and I have to say the menu just wasn’t the same. We had the same waiter Edmund and he was again, excellent!
The hit of my last visit - pasta w cream sauce - was not available and the other pasta dishes paired in comparison. We did try the local fried cheese balls in Ragu and they were very tasty.
It’s still a nice place, but I was a bit disappointed without that creamy past dish that brought me back.

If you’re in Sulmona - you want to eat here!!
A very pleasant atmosphere on a side street with a view of a 14th century church and filled with locals - locals so friendly, they insisted that we sample their wine!
The waiter spoke fluent English and made fantastic recommendations for sampling a few dishes and sharing others, so as to not just run up our bill, but allow us to try the local specialties.
The pasta with cream and sausage was the highlight dish!
A wonderful meal and true taste of L’aquila region!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great restaurant in Sulmona. Both food and service were very good. We ordered mostly whatever counts as local dishes. Cacio e Uva is a must, the chitara primi is delicious - ask for the spicy oil on the side and mix it into it for additional pleasure. They also had a delicious pasta with ragu and red wine which was very unique and delicious for me.
They also have a wide and quality selection of wines. The place itself looka very welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly one of the best meals we've had during our two weeks in Italy. We loved it so much we ate there three times in 4 days!! The chitarra al ragù is exceptional, the arrosticini were cooked to absolute perfection and the polpette were divine. Plus the house wines were all organic local wines!! We loved the eclectic antique vibes and everyone (cooks to servers) were so kind. This is a gem in Sulmona and a reason to come back! Grazie a tutti!!

I loved the lentils soup and the chitarra abruzzese.
The decoration is extremely pleasant, including the sink in the toilet!
