★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have been trying out some restaurants in Florence since we moved here a year ago, have to say I had high expectation for Buca Lapi but our meal was quite disappointing. We had some florentine apetizers and the plate was 4 slices of prosciutto crudo and 2 bruschette. Really basic for a 12€ apetizer, but fine. My husband got the 60€ steak and I had the beef stew with onion and polenta 40€. The steak was a mini Tbone (600/700grams) and my stew was ok. We spent 140€ for an absolutely average meal, I did not taste anything particular/distinctive or worth the money. I mean, for half the price you can find many places serving average meals like this.
The service was fast but we did not felt home or welcomed.

We visited Italy over a two week period and tried multiple Michelin Star restaurants and other fine dining establishment. The steak at Buca Lapi was the best bite of the entire trip. The staff was very attentive and kind. The service flowed well for an overall incredible experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food, atmosphere, and staff were amazing! Alice and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were able to communicate in English and they didn't seem to sneer at our attempt to speak Italian. This place is reservation only for a reason. The steak, cannotoli and chocolate desert were great choices. We will definitely dine with them again. This was an enjoyable experience for us. Highest Recommendation.
