Great finding in the center of Palermo. Well deserved multiple-year recognition from Michelin. Rich wine list of the top Sicilian wines. WINE: Our selection was Rosato, Bonavita, Sicily 2020 Very pleasant acidity, well structured notes of grapes and herbs that after you finish your glass open up the scents of pomegranate and cranberries. I found it perfect for our shrimps tartare and Baccalà. FOOD: We tried: Buatta Degustation plate - a selection of typical Sicilian appetizers, including Permitan focaccia, sardines with oranges, caponata, fish balls with capers in tomato sauce, and many others. Tartare of shrimps with fruits (peach and apple) - light and refreshing start for your meal. Anelletti alla siciliana - Sicilian style pasta in fresh tomato sauce and beef ragù Baccalà - cod fish cooked at a slow temperature with a delicious sauce of potatoes, herbs and spinach, covered with sweet roasted tomatoes. SERVICE: During the dinner we were served by 3 people, despite the fact that the restaurant was full and had no free tables. Marta introduced us to the menu and was making sure everything was going well and smoothly throughout the dinner. Umberto advised us on the local dishes and “must-haves” in Palermo, described each menu option in details. Filippo gave us an informative guidance on Sicilian wines, which helped us to select the right bottle to complement our dishes. LITTLE PLEASANT DETAILS: Compliment from the chef at the beginning of the dinner - a slice of Palermitan focaccia with tomato sauce and a little glass of homemade Rosato wine. It was a pleasant gesture for us as tourists. Friendly staff provided me with a charger to charge my phone while I’m enjoying the dinner - yes, it’s a detail, but I appreciate their attention and availability to make me feel comfortable. I definitely recommend you this place to visit if you’re in Palermo.

Good appetizer Buatta and the chickpea bread was amazing! Staff is nice and helpful. Price wise also good. Recommend to visit this place if in Palermo.

We had a good dinner. The menu offers most of the classics of the local cuisine, and everything was very tasty. Generous portions. Service is friendly and quick. Nice location in the very centre. If I have to criticize something, we found the final bill (45€/person) a bit too expensive for what we had, especially in comparison with other restaurants we tried in Palermo.

I don’t get the negative comments. A restaurant with really genuine food. Nice staff. Excellent wines. And something that really sticks out from the ubiquitous dishes you get all along.

We wanted to book, but we were rejected due to occupancy, however we came that same evening and were received by luck. Perfect welcome, the kindest staff in all of Palermo! Knowledge of English and French for every compliment. Although the team is very young, they are extremely professional. As for the food, we opted for food tasting of 8 courses at the choice of the chef at a price of 38e. The food was interesting, delicious, the pasta with artichoke very salty but excellently cooked, and we found hair in the tuna even though it wasn’t a problem with a kind apology. All in all okay. Wine list excellent. We were disappointed that there was very little meat on the menu, just one dish. The overall impression is great, a really good restaurant.

We booked our new year’s eve dinner at la Buatta and maybe we raised our expectation too high but the menu was “ok” with some strong dishes like snails that I did not like. The timing of the overall service was not really well coordinated, we were rushed to finish appetizers and then left to wait for mains because otherwise we would have finished our dinner at 22:00 instead of on time for midnight countdown. Service waf friendly but for the fame and the price I expected more on food and tastes.

Overrated. The food was not special, but pretty expensive. Buatta tasty as antipasti was okay, I had ravioli with ricotta and lung (it was fine), one of my friends had white fish (it was part of “today’s special”, it was not bad, but nothing special), BUT lintil soup (it was disgusting) and sardine pasta (included too much dill, you cannot feel fish taste at all). The bathroom was awful (dirty walls and stinky), not really appropriate for such highly rated restaurant.

I don't know how much they gave Michelin. They served the worst dinner ever. The cold, uncooked, flour-chewed bread soiled my mouth and I haven't eaten anything since. The pork was hard like a brick, and after 4 days, it was dry as if heated in a microwave. The pasta had a very strong smell and felt out of harmony. And the snail dishes are stinky and didn't get rid of their bad smell and feel. I was very disappointed with their cuisine. And about Sicily And the pork sauce had no taste and had no effect, like adding a lot of water to the sauce. It's not at all harmonious and I don't want to eat those foods at that price. This restaurant made Michelin suspicious You get a lot of guests for just one evening, but that dinner is a one-time dinner for me. Look at the plate of leftovers and hopefully you will be enlightened about it. Service 3 taste 0 price 0
